Kind Foundation (Formerly YMCA Christchurch)
I was asked to capture a recent event for the The Kind Foundation based in central Christchurch and their brand new building, Papa Hou, at 12 Hereford Street.
The Kind Foundation is invested in the next generation. They are always thinking of how to develop young people today, so that they will be great members of society tomorrow. They do this through a range of programmes, but also by empowering others in our community to be involved with our cause.
In conjunction with a global adventure company that organises tours for Australian schools the team at KF were organising a wicked adventure for a group of young people from Townsville Grammar School (in Queensland) for a 5-day expedition hiking through Harper Pass to the Otira River connecting the West Coast and the East.
I covered the initial meet and greet along with a powhiri the day before the expedition, to set the scene for the students on this epic journey. They all had an amazing time though there looked to be some pretty sore bodies by the end of their trip 🙂
